• what is grace & magic?
A space to explore the questions that keep me up at night — about curiosity, resilience, and why some people just get lucky.

hello

my name is kat.

i’m a triple scorpio with a pieces moon and a bachelors degree in psychology. i grew up with a narcissistic mother and then spent too many years married to two different versions of her toxicity. i am disabled, living with me/cfs and pots. i am a cat mom to a wonderful fiesty smart and skittish tortie.

i love the smell and sound of rain, yet come from the desert. did you know there are like millions of shades of green?!? grace and magic was started over a decade over in my quest for finding the magic in the mundane and the grace that kindness and compassion offer. i have a rare, aggressive, terrifying cancer that’s in remission and scares the shit out of me. i was lucky it was found early. i think growing old is a privilege

it is self-preservation.”

“I just do the best I can to face what life brings.
That’s the secret, you know.
That’s the way you change your fate.”
― Alice Hoffman, The Rules of Magic

“You have survived everything you have been through, and you will survive this too. Stay for the person you will become. You are more than a bad day, or week, or month, or year, or even a decade. You are a future of multifarious possibility. You are another self at a point in future time looking back in gratitude that this lost and former you held on. Stay.”
― Matt Haig, The Comfort Book
