A Little Hope, A Little Intention, A Little Luck

Well holy freakin’ cow. What a week.

The 2026 election results have certainly given us a lot to think about. Democrats swept control of both the House and Senate, and voters have made their voices heard in a pretty significant way.

I watched Heather Cox Richardson’s video today hoping to get a broader understanding of what this massive ‘blue wave’ might mean going forward. She did not disappoint. I didn’t understand it enough to explain to you other than – we have reason to be hopeful and need to be vigilant.

You can see her video in full here, worth a watch in my mind:

Whatever you’re feeling right now — relieved, hopeful, anxious, exhausted, cautiously optimistic, rage that things had to get this bad for so many of us before enough folks cared to vote for change, or some combination of all of the above — I think there’s something worth remembering:

We don’t have to wait for luck to find us. We can make a little of our own.

Not the kind of luck that magically makes everything go our way. Not the kind that promises an easy road or a perfectly predictable future.

I’m talking about the everyday kind.

The kind we make when we pay attention. When we choose kindness. When we show up for one another. When we notice the small possibilities in front of us and decide to do something with them.

We make our own luck in the little things. In the choices we make, the connections we nurture, the things we dare to imagine, and the ordinary moments we might otherwise overlook.

And that’s really what Lucky 13 is all about.

It’s a 13-day experiment in noticing magic. A little invitation to pause, pay attention, get curious, and make room for what might still unfold.

No grand resolutions. No promises to transform your entire life. No pressure to become someone else.

Just 13 days of noticing, exploring, and making a little room for ordinary magic.

Because the future isn’t entirely ours to control. But there are still things we can tend, choices we can make, and little bits of luck we can create along the way.

It’s free, one email once a day for 13 days beginning on Friday, November 13th. I would really love for you to join us. Seriously.

Come make a little luck with me.

Join Lucky 13!

With a little grace & a little magic,
Kat 🐈‍⬛
